Who processes your data

The data controller is Go-To Answer. We process personal data of people in the United Kingdom in line with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. For privacy questions, contact milan@gotoanswer.com.

What data we collect

  • Your website address and the check results — to build the report and let you open it from its link.
  • A hash of your IP address — a one-way value used only to limit the number of checks and prevent abuse, deleted no later than 25 hours after the check. We don't store your IP address in readable form.
  • Contact form details — name, email, phone number and message, only if you send them, so we can reply to you.
  • Email for a copy of the report — if you ask for a copy of the report by email, we use the address to send you that copy and to get in touch about fixing your website, which you agree to in the form. We keep it for 90 days, like a form enquiry.

Why we use it (lawful basis)

We run the free check and keep the report because you asked us to (our legitimate interest in providing the service you requested). We reply to enquiries and send report copies with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. We use the IP hash for our legitimate interest in preventing abuse.

How long we keep it

We automatically delete reports, form enquiries and report-copy email addresses after 90 days. We delete the IP hash after 24 hours (the clean-up runs hourly, so no later than 25 hours after the check).

Who we share it with

When the AI test is on, we send the public content of the checked website's home page and the questions to the Google Gemini API, and the website address to Google PageSpeed Insights for the Lighthouse measurement. We send contact form details and report-copy requests to ourselves by email, and the report copy to you, through our email provider. These providers may process data outside the UK under appropriate safeguards. We don't sell data or use it for advertising.

Cookies

This site doesn't set cookies and doesn't use visitor tracking tools.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct and delete your data, to object to its use, and to withdraw your consent to be contacted at any time — email us at milan@gotoanswer.com. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
